Meet Markie Damiana, LPCC

Empathy and Expertise in Women’s Mental Health

Markie Damiana, the driving force behind EVE Mental Health, brings over a decade of experience in the mental health field, with a deep understanding of the intricate connections between biological, psychological, and social factors that shape women’s mental health. As a daughter, mother, professional, spouse, and friend, Markie knows firsthand the multifaceted roles women balance and their unique challenges. Her passion lies in helping women navigate these complexities with empathy and evidence-based interventions, guiding them through every step of their transformative journey.

A Commitment to Community & Empowerment

Markie’s path to becoming a counselor was inspired by her unwavering belief in the power of community support and her determination to excel in a world that often sets unrealistic expectations for women. She believes no one should face their struggles alone and feels honored to walk alongside women on their paths to healing, growth, and self-discovery. Markie aims to empower women to break through barriers, build resilience, and embrace their desired life.

A Diverse & Compassionate Perspective

As a proud Mexican and Irish woman, Markie draws strength from her rich cultural heritage, which deeply influences her practice. Raised in Ventura County, California, with a special connection to Colorado, Markie has a profound appreciation for the beauty of nature and the wisdom it imparts. This connection to her roots and the natural world plays a significant role in how she approaches her work and her clients’ healing journeys.

Education & Expertise

Markie Damiana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University Northridge and a Master’s in Counseling from Colorado State University Denver. Her academic journey, combined with her work as a research assistant, laid a strong foundation in multicultural concerns and performance psychology. These experiences have shaped her into a practitioner who blends research-driven insights with compassionate care to meet each client’s unique needs.

Outside the Therapy Room

When she’s not guiding others through their personal growth, Markie is a lifelong learner, often listening to insightful podcasts or diving into thought-provoking books. She’s also a nature enthusiast who loves hiking with her two children in Ventura County’s beautiful trails, taking every opportunity to soak in the lessons nature has to offer. Markie thrives on meaningful conversations and believes in the transformative power of community and connection, which continues to inspire her work and life.

“You deserve empathetic, evidence-based support in achieving your goals and building a fulfilling life.”

Specialized Care for Women's Health

She focuses on promoting equity and well-being, using cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to provide personalized care that empowers women to navigate their challenges with confidence and resilience.

Markie is dedicated to helping each woman find her strength, embrace her journey, and create a brighter future.

Is Counseling or Coaching Right for Me?

The choice between counseling and coaching depends on your current goals and the type of support you’re seeking.

If you’re experiencing mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, or past trauma, counseling might be the best fit. Counseling provides a safe space to explore emotions, identify underlying patterns, and address life challenges with professional support.

Counseling is often about understanding and healing, making it ideal if you’re looking to improve emotional well-being or navigate difficult life experiences. Note that I can provide counseling services to clients in California and Colorado.

Coaching, on the other hand, may be better suited if you’re looking to achieve specific personal or professional goals, build new skills, or reach your full potential. Coaching is more action-oriented, helping you set and achieve goals, increase self-confidence, and navigate transitions in your personal or work life.

Since coaching doesn’t focus on mental health diagnoses, it’s available to clients worldwide and can be a flexible option for those seeking personal growth.

If you’re still unsure, set up a free consultation. I would be happy to discuss your needs and help determine which path might be the best fit for you.

Can I Use My Insurance for Our Sessions?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

What Is Your Session Rate?

My rates vary depending on the length of the session. The most common session types are 45-minute sessions, which are $200.
