General Information
What is the difference between counseling and coaching?
The primary difference between counseling and coaching is in the focus and scope of our work together.
Counseling, or therapy, is focused on improving mental health, emotional well-being, and addressing specific life challenges or past traumas. It often includes exploring underlying patterns, emotions, and past experiences to foster healing and personal growth. As a licensed therapist, I provide counseling to clients located in California and Colorado.
Coaching, on the other hand, is oriented around achieving specific personal or professional goals and unlocking your full potential.
Coaching tends to be more action-focused, concentrating on forward movement, goal setting, and accountability. Rather than addressing mental health diagnoses, coaching supports you in enhancing your strengths and achieving meaningful outcomes. Coaching sessions can be conducted from anywhere in the world, making it a flexible option for clients wherever they are located.
Both approaches offer guidance and support, but the right choice depends on your individual goals and needs.
How do I know if counseling or coaching is right for me?
The choice between counseling and coaching depends on your current goals and the type of support you’re seeking.
If you’re experiencing mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, or past trauma, counseling might be the best fit. Counseling provides a safe space to explore emotions, identify underlying patterns, and address life challenges with professional support.
Counseling is often about understanding and healing, making it ideal if you’re looking to improve emotional well-being or navigate difficult life experiences. Note that I can provide counseling services to clients in California and Colorado.
Coaching, on the other hand, may be better suited if you’re looking to achieve specific personal or professional goals, build new skills, or reach your full potential. Coaching is more action-oriented, helping you set and achieve goals, increase self-confidence, and navigate transitions in your personal or work life.
Since coaching doesn’t focus on mental health diagnoses, it’s available to clients worldwide and can be a flexible option for those seeking personal growth.
If you’re still unsure, set up a free consultation. I would be happy to discuss your needs and help determine which path might be the best fit for you.
Do you only work with people who identify as women?
No, I work with clients of all genders. While my practice specializes in women’s experiences—particularly in areas like perinatal mental health, career development, and balancing personal and professional roles—I welcome clients of any gender who feel my expertise aligns with their needs.
My focus is on creating a supportive, understanding environment tailored to each individual’s unique journey, regardless of gender.

What can I expect during the consultation?
The consultation is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your current concerns, your goals, and my therapeutic practices. This session helps us determine if we’re a good fit and allows me to create a personalized plan for your therapy or coaching journey.
How long do sessions last?
I offer 45 or 60 minute sessions. For clients needing a little more time, I offer 90-minute sessions as well.
How often will we meet?
This depends on your needs and availability. Many clients start with weekly sessions, then adjust to biweekly as they make progress. We’ll work together to find the best schedule for you.
Can I bring my baby to session?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your baby to our sessions! I understand that childcare can be a challenge, especially for new parents. Having your little one with you can help create a comfortable and supportive environment, allowing us to focus on your needs while also accommodating the realities of parenting.
Policies & Confidentiality
Is my information confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is a top priority in both my counseling and coaching services. For therapy clients, our sessions are protected by strict confidentiality laws, which means that what you share with me stays private, with very few exceptions. These exceptions include situations where there may be a risk of harm to yourself or others, or in cases of child or elder abuse, as required by law.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
What should I do if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens, and I understand that plans can change. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session to avoid a late cancellation fee.
Rates & Payment
What are your rates?
My rates vary depending on the length of the session. The most common session types are 45-minute sessions which are $150 and 60-minute sessions which are $200.
